Program to convert routes generated by TTQV into Pathaway Palm route databases to support turn instructions.
The great map software Touratech QV Version 4 can save you a lot of time when creating maps and routes for your GPS device. Unfortunately its Pathaway export function does not support turn instructions. So your turns are lost after you have loaded it down into your Palm device.
This is the reason I hacked a small Windows program which does the conversion automatically.
Features:
Best first: It's free! ;-)
Delete names from route points to support direction info (optional)
Use a different icon identifier for turns (optional)
Usage:
Install cnvqvturn4pw.exe and pwdblib.dll into the same directory.
Create route in TTQV. Mark turns with the "Green Diamond" icon.
If you choose to use an other icon you have to provide the TTQV identifier in the field.
Export the route in Pathaway PDB format.
Start cnvqvturn4pw.exe.
Load the exported PDB file with File/Open.
Tick or untick "Delete names" checkbox.
Press Button "Convert it!".
Done! You find the converted PDB file with an additional suffix ("_ti" for turn instructions) in the same directory.
Copy or hotsync the converted PDB file on your Palm.
Select the new route in the route dialog and choose "Rebuild database" from the menu.
